Intel, Philips, Mitsibushi, Texas Instruments, Samsung, Sharp, Kodak, HP and many others joined in an alliance to establish a standard for UWB. One of the pioneers in UWB is Dr. Robbert Fontana of Multispectral Solutions in the USA. They have already over fiveteen years of experience in this field in secret militairy UWB solutions and were the first to come with fcc approved commercial UWB applications. Leading market research companies predict between 1,4 en 2,2 billion dollar turnover in 2007 (Allied Business Intelligence).
